Initial removal of some non-native plants has begun at Old Historic Pump House in Hidalgo. This will make space for some impressive butterfly gardens to be located in and around the pumphouse grounds. The final touches are being applied by landscape architects and local Master Gardners to the plans which will transform the grounds into a wonderful site for butterflies, hummingbirds and other native bird species. The new gardens will provide a relaxing venue for those interested in butterflies, birds or just plain relaxing.
