Facilty Progress

The Harlingen wing of the World Birding Center is forging ahead with a true community effort. Eagle Scouts in combination with The Arroyo Colorado Chapter of the Audubon Society and Texas Master Naturalist have made impressive gains in the re-vegetation effort of the old landfill now know as Hugh Ramsey Nature Park. This native habitat all ready provides excellent birding opportunities for birders and nature lovers alike.

The City of Harlingen has received final clearance from TCEQ to proceed with its plans to build the offices for their World Birding Center. The plans call for a Fall 2005 ribbon cutting ceremony.
