Resaca de la Palma

Facility Progress

The staff at Resaca worked long and hard to prepare the park for the public, and on December 6th 2008 we celebrated our Grand Opening. The day's activities included a raptor show, bike and nature tours, bird and other wildlife lessons at the decks, and the Buffalo Soldiers.

Working with Pablo de Yturbe as park manager for Resaca de la Palma are natural resource specialist Katherine Miller, park administrative officer Lauren Acevedo, lead ranger Junior Munoz, interpreters, clerks and maintenance crew.

Currently Resaca de la Palma State Park offers bird walks, nature walks, butterfly walks, bike tours and night hikes. Teachers are welcome to bring their children to the park for a field trip; we offer two lessons plans and are planning to add more in the spring of 2010. For additional information, please call the Resaca de la Palma State Park visitor center at 956-350-2920.
