11am ribbon-cutting at tram stop
- Gladys Porter Zoo comes to you at 12pm-4pm with an alligator, falcon, snakes and others
- Nature Programs
- Woodland Restoration and Landscaping at Bentsen Rio Grande Valley State Park by Chris Hathcock, World Birding Center Habitat Biologist beginning at 10am
- Insects and Insect Relatives by Mike Hayes Local Naturalist at 4pm
- Mariachi music by local artists
- Free food and drinks
- Wildlife watching opportunities
- Early morning bird walks with John Arvin, Bird Biologist for Bentsen Rio Grande Valley State Park (registration required)
- Bird experts at the Hawk Tower and Resaca Overlook
- Butterfly expert in the butterfly garden
- Free use of the two and four person bikes
- Texas Master Naturalists - family nature activities including: owl, frog, and butterfly crafts
- Free Tram rides throughout the park some of the trams will be from Hidalgo Pump House and Santa Ana.
- Valley Air Care will bring their helicopter, Palmview fire department and LifeLine EMS will also bring their emergency vehicles. Border Patrol will be at the event and will have their horses there for part of the day.
