Saturday’s Events
- Close encounters with Texas Owls
- Houston Audubon Society presents live owls: screech owl, great horned owl and long-eared owl, up close and in person.
- Close encounters with Texas alligators, snakes, toads and falcons
- Gladys Porter Zoo will bring live animals; some will be available for hands-on encounters with visitors.
- Mariachi music provided by local artists
- Local vendors provide free food and drinks
- Bird and butterfly watching opportunities
- Early morning bird walks with John Arvin, an authority on local birds
- Bird experts at the Hawk Tower and Resaca Overlook
- Butterfly expert in the butterfly garden
- Free use of the two- and four-person bikes
- Texas Master Naturalists will lead family nature activities including: owl, frog, and butterfly crafts
