Saturday’s Events

  • Close encounters with Texas Owls
    • Houston Audubon Society presents live owls: screech owl, great horned owl and long-eared owl, up close and in person.
  • Close encounters with Texas alligators, snakes, toads and falcons
    • Gladys Porter Zoo will bring live animals; some will be available for hands-on encounters with visitors.
  • Mariachi music provided by local artists
  • Local vendors provide free food and drinks
  • Bird and butterfly watching opportunities
    • Early morning bird walks with John Arvin, an authority on local birds
    • Bird experts at the Hawk Tower and Resaca Overlook
    • Butterfly expert in the butterfly garden
  • Free use of the two- and four-person bikes
  • Texas Master Naturalists will lead family nature activities including: owl, frog, and butterfly crafts
